Introduction
This document describes the target OpenApp architecture and business operations for restaurant POS integrations.
Scope
The primary integration scenario is Scan & Pay: a customer scans a QR code - either a static station QR fixed to a table or kiosk, or a receipt QR printed by the POS - and pays the bill through OpenApp. OpenApp requests the bill from the POS, executes the customer payment, and confirms the result back to the POS.
Additional capabilities - menu synchronization, table ordering, pickup and delivery order submission, and table-session postpaid bill payment - are available on request and documented in the Integration Flows section.
The POS remains the source of truth for table state, open checks, accepted order lines, waiter operations, kitchen operations, fiscal receipts, and POS-side bill closure.
OpenApp owns customer identity, the customer-facing app experience, customer payment execution, notifications, settlement, and reconciliation.
